News

  • End of Semester: December 16th is officially the end of the 2nd semester. Report Cards and Parent-Teacher conferences will be held by request after Winter Break.
  • Healthy Lunches: We would like to request that you pack healthy lunches for your students, refraining from candy and sodas.
  • Jingle Bell Shop: Each year the Upper Elementary puts on a used toy sale as a fundraiser for the class. Students are encouraged to donate *gently* used toys which will be on sale for the UE and LE classes to purchase. The Jingle Bell Shop will be open on Thursday, December 15th at lunch. Donations will be accepted at any time.
  • Sedona Marathon: Once again, we are planning a major entry in the Sedona Marathon event on Saturday, February 4. Sedona Charter School has always been a major presence at the marathon from the very first year. This event is always a lot of fun for us, and a great fundraiser.
  • All-School Strings Concert: On

Monday, December 12 at 6:30 pm we will hold our winter All-School Musical Strings Concert! Participants need to arrive by 6pm. We are still firming up the location, but it will most likely be at Red Rock High School. All students in our strings program will be participating. More info will come later . . .

  • Winter Potluck: Parents and guardians are invited to attend our annual Winter Potluck which will take place on Friday, December 16th at noon. Please bring the following dishes to share with the class:
          • 4th Years: Side Dishes (Macaroni and Cheese, Rice Pilaf, Mashed Potatoes)
          • 5th Years: Cheese, Meat, Bread, and Crackers
          • 6th Years: Desserts
  • Secret Pal Gift-Giving: Every year the UE students participate in a gift-giving activity before Winter Break. During this activity each student will randomly pick another student's name out of a hat and will be responsible for getting a gift for that student. There is $5.00 limit, but homemade and recycled items are encouraged. The gifts will be handed out at the Winter Potluck where each student will guess who their gift is from. Gifts should be wrapped but should not be marked with who the gift is from.
  • Mandatory 6th Grade Trip Meeting: There will be a mandatory 6th Grade Trip meeting on Wednesday, January 18th at 5:00pm in the UE classroom.
  • Tutoring Late Fee: We, SEDONA CHARTER SCHOOL, have decided charge a $20.00 late fee for each student picked up from tutoring after 4:30pm.
  • Local/Global Communities After School Club: Jacki will oversee UE and MS students in a new after school club focusing on promoting the welfare of our community as well as other communities across the globe. The group will meet each Friday from 3:30-4:30 in the UE classroom. The group will be working in partnership with New Global Citizens, a non-profit organization based in Phoenix and the Sedona Time Bank, a local non-profit organization.
