News

  • MANY THANKS TO COLOSSAL CAVE CHAPERONES: One thing that makes Sedona Charter School so unique is the number of field trips we take, none of which would be possible without parent chaperones. We would like to express our gratitude to the following parents who accompanied us on the Colossal Cave field trip: Mary Beattie, Bridgette Van Block, Michael Shields, Brandi and Sean Boykin, Reza Movassaghi, Brad Ramer, Terry Gregg, Jay Javey, Cheree Dahl, Kevin Ahern, Nathan Trujillo, Rachel Betancourt, Todd Winant, Gregg Koss, Deb Reed, Alex Kaseoru. We hope you will join us again ;)
  • 6th Year Haunted House Set-Up: We will be setting up the Haunted House for the Fall Harvest Festival afterschool from 3:30-5:00pm on Tuesday, October 25th.
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences: Conferences will be scheduled with your student's advising teacher. They are not mandatory, but definitely encouraged. Marsha will meet with 5th Years on Tuesday, October 25th; Andrea will meet with 4th Years on Wednesday, October 26th; and Jacki will meet with 6th Years on Thursday, October 27th. If you are interested in having a conference, please email us with a time between 8:30am-12:00pm that works for you.
  • Red Rock Fantasy Supplies: We have begun our yearly artist study, this year's focus being Frida Khalo. We are in need of holiday lights, brightly colored outdoor or indoor paints, and plywood, or tax-credit-eligible donations to buy these supplies.
  • Student Supplies: Please make sure your student has a pencil box and water bottle to keep at school.

Volunteer Opportunities

50 Parent/Guardian Volunteer Hours per year are required for each SCS student unless other arrangements are made with the Principal Educator. Below are the current volunteer opportunities for the UE classroom. Be sure to log your hours in the main office!

  • Library Trips: We are still in need of a 6th grade parent volunteer to chaperone our trips to the library every other Monday from 2:00 - 3:00 pm.
  • Laminating/Hole Punching: If you are available to help us with laminating during the school day, please let us know or drop by and check in with Marsha.
  • ***Friday Electives***: We are in need of volunteers to run Friday electives from 2:00-3:00pm for the semester. If you can commit to the entire semester (October-December) and would like to lead one of the following classes or have an idea of your own, please email us.
