This Week in Upper Elementary August 18, 2011

Welcome

Thank you so much for a smooth first week! We are all happy to be back and happy to see you all back! If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to check in with us, please contact us at sedonacharterue@gmail.com to set up a time and date to meet with us. We check the class email multiple times a day and will respond as soon as possible. You may also stop in for a quick chat between 7:45am and 8:30am and again between 3:15pm and 4:00pm.

Supplies

A BIG thanks to everyone who donated supplies to the classroom--especially cleaning supplies. We want to make sure that each child has the following items:

    -pencil box

    -tennis shoes for P.E. on Tuesdays and Thursdays

    -re-useable water bottle

Library

We are going to establish a regular routine of visiting the library and allowing students to check out books to be kept at school for reading and research. Please send your child's small key chain card to be kept at school for such visits by Friday, August 26, 2011.

Back to School Picnic

The Parent Partnership will hold a potluck picnic on Wednesday, August 31st from 4:30pm-5:30pm. All are welcome to attend and share a dish. 

Volunteers Needed

We need volunteers to help run our first Movie Night on Friday, September 9. We also need drivers for our field trip the the Lava Tube in Flagstaff on Wednesday, August 31. Please email us at sedonacharterue@gmail.com to volunteer.

Book Group

    There will be a book club the 2nd Wednesday of every month at Sedona Charter School to discuss the book Montessori Madness.

End of Day Procedures

We greatly appreciate you waiting outside of the classroom at the end of the day to pick up your student. Our school day ends at 3:15pm and we will are unable to dismiss students until then without a parent signing them out in the office.
